Seminar of Dr. Inta Dimante-Deimantovica
On 22 January (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. in the seminar room on the ground floor of the Institute, PhD Inta Dimante-Deimantovica from Latvian Institute of Aquatic Ecology will have a presentation titled: Is microplastic the proxy of the Anthropocene and what it has to do with Cladocera subfossils?
I. Dimante-Deimantovica is a biologist and her main research interests are freshwater ecosystem functioning, biodiversity and monitoring (EU Water Framework Directive), arctic limnology, microcrustaceans Cladocera & Copepoda – biological indicators, taxonomy, microplastics pollution in freshwaters and brackish waters. I. Dimante-Deimantovica visited IGiPZ in 2019 several times and has been cooperating with our college Dr I. Zawiska within the frame of the postdoctoral project: A paleo-ecotoxicology approach to detect the impact of plastic particles on functional and structural diversity of the keystone microcrustacean group Cladocera in freshwaters funded by European Regional Development Fund (project No. 1.1.1.2/VIAA/2/18/359).
All interested are cordially invited to the meeting!
