Dr. Andrzej Affek, assistant professor at IGiPZ PAN, won the competition of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for scholarships for outstanding young scientists. Three-year scholarships are awarded to young scientists who conduct high-quality research and enjoy impressive scientific achievements.

The scholarship holder is the author of books and scientific articles published by internationally recognized publishing houses and journals, a member of the board of the European Association for Landscape Ecology, a laureate of the A. Rojszczak Award and the Bekker Programme of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange. He is currently a Visiting Honorary Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA).
